Name of the Project
Quay 7 Superyacht Marina.

Location
V&A Waterfront, Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa.

Project Owner/s
Mixed-use precinct V&A Waterfront.

Project Description
The Quay 7 Superyacht Marina forms part of the broader V&A Waterfront precinct expansion, which also includes the Cape Town EDITION hotel, the refurbished InterContinental Table Bay Cape Town and the East Pier Helistop. The marina is being developed as a dual-purpose facility and is also expected to pursue Gold Anchor accreditation. During the peak yachting season, it will accommodate superyachts on six stern-in berths and two beam-on berths served by floating jetties. In the off-season, it will support commissioning and export staging for Cape

Town’s catamaran manufacturing industry, including builders such as Robertson and Caine, Two Oceans Marine and Balance Catamarans.

Published technical specifications indicate eight berths for vessels of up to 90 m. Confirmed key features include floating jetties with electricity, water and Wi-Fi; bonded fuel supply at Elbow Quay through the FFS Refiners refuelling facility; a 113.71 m² concierge lounge; a 100 m² storage facility; security; and access to repair and refit infrastructure. The project also benefits from Cape Town’s position on the Southern Atlantic Ocean and long-distance cruising routes.

Potential Job Creation
The facility will require additional permanent staff, with broader employment multiplier effects in the provisioning, refuelling, marine maintenance and hospitality sectors. The facility will have its own dedicated concierge office servicing the vessels and their crew.

Capital Expenditure
R230-million.

Planned Start/End Date
The project is scheduled for completion in October 2026.

Latest Developments
None disclosed.

Key Contracts, Suppliers and Consultants
No main construction contractors, consulting engineers or other key consultants had been named at the time of writing.
